SOME OF COLORADO'S BEST DAY LOOP RIDES There are lots of good rides along the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies, some of which are included in my 10-day trips posted elsewhere on this web site. There has been a need for some specific loop trips, broken down into each particular loop ride. I've now done this since in July 2008 the first North America FJR Owners (NAFO) gathering in Golden, Colorado (just west of Denver) will be held -- the Yamaha FJR1300 is the blue bike that I own. Since I have ridden so many of the roads in Colorado, I have been helping them by laying out about six different one-day loop rides out of Golden. Since the work has been done, I thought that I'd post that information here in my format so that many of you can use that information to help in planning some of your Colorado riding. Since I did similar work for the Honda Gold Wing Rockies-Gold event that I organized in 2007 and 2008 for western Colorado riding, I will be posting those loop rides here also. I have also included GPS files for each of these loop rides, so you can download it and check it out on your own GPS software. I hope that you find all of this information useful -- let me hear what you think. Click here to give feedback. Great Rides in Western Colorado, out of Montrose:NOTE: Although these rides are shown starting and ending in Montrose (for the Rockies-Gold event), you can easily modify these routes to start at another location in southwestern Colorado; please note however, that only from Montrose can you do all of these rides from one location. The 1st four are pretty easy day loops from Montrose, and even these can be shortened if you wish by just doing half of the loop. The 2nd four are longer rides, but still very doable from Montrose if you wish.
