Ten Days in Colorado and/or Utah

+Front Range and SW Colorado Day/Loop Rides

In March 2008 I added a new section showing the various rides out of Denver (Front Range) and Montrose (southwest Colorado).  Some of these are included in the 10-day rides, but it seems that many folks just want to come to these areas and do various rides, so I've worked these rides up for this purpose.       

This site also provides my selection of the best 10-days trips that you can do in Colorado and surrounding areas.  The routes presented start and end in Woodland Park (west of Colorado Springs), but they could just as easily start from Denver or Colorado Springs.  Just look at a map and make a few adjustments.

        The biggest problem with the canyon country of Utah in July and August is that it can be VERY HOT unless you are at the higher elevations, therefore the best time for riding the Utah canyon country is in May and September (many Colorado passes are still closed in May due to winter snows, and even in early June and late September you need to watch the weather for early snows in the Colorado mountains).

        Included throughout the prescribed rides are links to get additional information on the scenic byways, parks, etc, along with small thumbnails of photos that I have taken in some of the areas.
